The exhibition presents both known and unknown events, facts and pictures that tell the story of the Bulduri area.

 The authors of the exhibition do not pretend to be a comprehensive presentation of history, as it is only the beginning of further research of Bulduri in order to create a permanent exposition in larger spaces. There is still a lack of information and there are many uncertainties and mysteries, which, like the Bulduri coin deposit, which can be seen in the exhibition, have not been fully resolved.

The exhibition was created in cooperation with the Latvian National Museum of History, the Latvian National Museum of Art, the Ęederts Elias Jelgava Museum of History and Art, the Latvian State Film and Photographic Document Archive of the Latvian National Archives, VAS "Latvijas dzelzceļš", images from the Latvian National Library, visual materials from the archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia were used. collections. Authors of the exhibition: Inta Baumane, Līga Strazda, Egita Cironokas, artist Gundars Gulbis.

Jūrmala Museum invites city citizens to participate in the creation of the new Bulduri exhibition by sharing their memories, information and objects.

The exhibition "Bilderlingshof-Bilderiņi" can be viewed from October 27 to December 30, 2024. Opening hours of the Bulduri Exhibition House: Sun., Fri., – Closed, Mon.-Sat. – 10.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m.

In the historic Water Tower, after reconstruction, you can view exhibitions dedicated to the history and legendary personalities of the Ķemeri area, as well as climb the viewing platforms. Open daily 10.00 - 18.00, admission free.

Ieva Putniņa's exhibition "Kaķacs" features three large-format paintings and stone sculptures that combine both autobiographical and motifs related to Aspazija and Raini.

The exhibition "Color Poet. Vilhelms Purvītis – Aspazija's neighbor in Dubultos" will give an insight into Purvītis' summers in Jūrmala, the artist's sources of inspiration in the famous Latvian resort town and his relationship with his no less famous neighbor - the poetess Aspazija.
The exhibition includes the original works of Purvīš created in Jūrmala from the Zuzān collection of the Latvian National Art Museum and Art Center "Zuzeum". For the first time, high-quality reproductions of paintings made in Jurmala, whose fate was unknown a few years ago, or could only be seen in black and white photographs, are exhibited.

The exhibition "Color Poet. Vilhelms Purvītis - Aspazija's neighbor in Dubultos" was created in cooperation with the Latvian National Art Museum and Art Center "Zuzeum", the Budapest Museum of Fine Arts, the Swedish Museum of Modern Art and the Benešov Museum of Art and Design in the Czech Republic. The works created by Vilhelm Purvīš in Jūrmala will be on display in Aspazija's house until November 9, 2024.

The Bulduri Exhibition House (Muižas iela 6, Jūrmala) will host Astra Šēnberga's first solo exhibition Everything is in the Head, which continues to introduce visitors to contemporary ceramic trends. The exhibition of large-format objects Athletic Progression by Ojūnas Batbajaras was very popular. Astra Šēnberga presents ceramic objects and installations with elements of play.

She has created light ceramic objects for the exhibition, installations that resemble drawings in the air, and has also used elements of play in her works. The works are made of stoneware and porcelain.

 

The exhibition can be viewed until November 12. Exhibition hall opening hours from Monday to Friday 13.00 - 18.00, Saturday 12.00 - 18.00.

Ansis Artums (1908-1997) - a painter from Tukums, a virtuosic capturer of the beauty of Latvian nature during the changing seasons and the glory of simple flowers, one of the most recognisable and brilliant masters of Latvian landscape and quiet nature.  An artist who was led by the joy of painting itself, "the beauty of painting".

He has rightly been called the director of nature - he has sensitively and skillfully adjusted the motifs of nature, creating his own "golden cut" for the view captured on canvas. At times the director's approach has manifested itself in a natural simplicity, at times even a certain eccentricity in the choice of colours, although the overall impression has always been harmonious.

Hiking in Ragakāpa Nature park

Start: at the Jūrmala Open-Air Museum, Tīklus iela 1A, Buļļuciems.
We invite you to take a hike through the Ragakāpa Nature Park, where you will learn about the life cycle of the pine forest and its healing properties. Accompanied by a guide, you will also get to the less known Jūrmala beach at the mouth of Lielupe. During the hike, you will discover what Jurmala was before it became a resort, and what is the healing miracle that all the guests of Jurmala come for. The Immortal Beloved is a 1994 biographical film written and directed by Bernard Rose, starring Gary Oldman, Jeroen Krabbé, Isabella Rossellini and Johanna ter Steege. The film tells about the life and death of the legendary Ludwig van Beethoven. Along with the music that Beethoven created, the composer once wrote a famous love letter to an unknown “beloved”, the film tries to find out who this mysterious woman was.
